So this is my first car, a Fiat 133. This vehicle
is not even a real Fiat, but a product of the company SEAT which at that
time built Fiats under license. This model even is a proprietary developmente
with the measures of a Panda and the engine and transmission of the ancient
Fiat 850 under the bonnet.
It is the only one of my former cars that I would not
buy once more because the fuel consumption was between 8 and 10 litres
per 100 kilimetros which is a bit much with only 34 hp. With a lot of luck
in the summer I sometimes got along with 7.5 litres, but in winter sometimes
it needed 12 !!! Well, partially the reason may be its low level of maintanance,
which I took in rather relaxed way at that time and the former owners of
the car even more. But with only 65000 kilometros I don't believe that
you can explain the extreme thirst completely.
Furthermore since that time I suffer from a "rear engine
trauma" because this layout causes the lack of a useful trunk. You can
just put a case of beer into the trunk replacement at the front of the
car, but this does not work with a case of cola, and putting it on the
backseat is a struggle which may just gives you good reason to visit the
bones' doctor.
The poor engine power makes you forget the word "overtake".
So this car is just useful as fun car on short distances.
But really it was the combination of low power and high
fuel consumption which made me prefer buy a reasonable car despite the
offer of my parents to pay for the necessary welding work.
